Umesh Muchhal
Dr. Muchhal has served as our Senior Vice President of Antibody Sciences since 2022. He brings extensive experience with design and development of novel antibody-based therapeutics. Most recently he served as Senior Director of Protein Sciences and Technology at Xencor, being a key enabler to more than ten clinical stage molecules including bispecific antibodies, cytokine fusions and other modalities. Prior to Xencor, he was a staff scientist at Maxygen. He has co-authored 24 publications and is an inventor on more than 15 granted U.S. patents. Dr. Muchhal received his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Nebraska and completed his undergraduate work in Microbiology & Chemistry at the University of Bombay and the Maharaja Sayajirao University.
